Zygo TeraOptix, a division of Zygo Corporation of Middlefield, Connecticut, is a manufacturer of high-precision optical components. Dacon has completed two projects with Zygo, and continues to work with the company on master planning, feasibility studies and expansion plans.
The first project entailed designing and building a 37,000 SF corporate office building with specialized engineering and NIF laboratory facilities. Dacon also upgraded the building’s exterior façade to enhance the company’s corporate image.
The second project entailed the design, engineering and reconstruction of 125,000 SF of acquired manufacturing space. 100,000 SF of the space is dedicated to class 100 to class 100,000 clean rooms needed to manufacture microscopic optical switching components. Systems necessary included a waste collection and treatment system, chemical storage system, deionized water system, processed exhaust system, vacuum system, emergency power system and life-safety system. Dacon successfully met the specifications required for the company to function safely and efficiently.
