Dacon worked with globally-renowned Pentair (formerly known as Tyco Valves and Controls) over an eight-year period exploring a variety of possible locations for the company’s advanced nuclear testing and development facility. After identifying the ideal site, Dacon converted a 1980s warehouse in Mansfield, Massachusetts into a 120,000 SF, world-class facility. The building features 24,000 SF of newly constructed office space and a 3,200-pound steam generation manufacturing and testing center. The center has helped Tyco secure its role as a world-leader in the manufacturing and testing of high-process steam valves for the nuclear power industry and the U.S. Military. Other features include a new roof, several 14-foot-deep process pits, electrical process distribution, three heavy cranes, multiple boilers, process mezzanines and interior separation walls. Dacon completed the project on schedule, and cost-savings achieved that were returned to Tyco.
